Harvard fund makes 7-9 pct gain on investments: report

Harvard University’s endowment fund has made a gain of 7 percent to 9 percent for the fiscal year ended June, boosted by investments in commodities, Treasuries and some strong hedge-fund performers, the Wall Street Journal said on Thursday, citing people familiar with the returns.

Glyn Jones is new Hermes Chairman

UK pension fund investment manager Hermes has hired Glyn Jones as its new chairman. Jones is taking over from Richard Bernays who will retire. Jones was previously chief executive of Thames River Capital and Gartmore Investment Management.
