President confident about high-tech industry’s prospects for 2009

President Ma Ying-jeou said Tuesday that he is confident Taiwan’s high-technology industry has the opportunity to experience prosperity next year despite negative growth recently amid tough economic times. Ma made the comments at the Presidential Office in the morning while meeting participants of the 2008 Taiwan Venture Forum.
The forum, organized by the Taiwan Private Equity and Venture Capital Association and sponsored by the Ministry of Economic Affairs’ Industrial Development Bureau, was held Monday at the Taipei International Conference Center.
