Dr. Nikolai Dördrechter is the Head of Private Markets and a Managing Director at XTP. Since joining the firm in 2018, he has been instrumental in building XTP’s Private Markets capabilities, establishing a dedicated team, developing analytical methodologies, and implementing essential tools and databases. Under his leadership, Nikolai and his team have evaluated and optimized hundreds of funds across Private Equity, Private Debt, Real Estate, and Infrastructure for institutional clients in Europe and the U.S.
With over 20 years of experience in private markets and due diligence, Nikolai is a highly respected expert and a trusted advisor to some of the largest institutional asset owners. Before joining XTP, he successfully co-founded a startup group focused on the insurance and alternative assets space. Prior to that, he was a Partner at Oliver Wyman’s Private Equity and M&A Group.
Nikolai holds a PhD in Economics & Behavioral Science from RWTH Aachen University and a Master’s degree in Business Economics from WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management. He also serves as a Lieutenant in the Reserve of the German Air Force.
