We offer online classes on The Fundamentals of Private Equity and The Economics of Private Equity to offer an “anytime, anywhere” learning experience.

The Fundamentals of Private Equity

This course will walk participants through the basics of the Private Equity asset class and provide a foundational understanding of key terms and roles in private markets. Participants will be able to identify the various structures within the industry, the different investment strategies and teams responsible for portfolio management and investment decisions.

Key Learning Objectives:

  • Identify and establish fluency with key private equity terms
  • Define the roles within limited and general partner organizations as they relate to the investment process
  • Understand how the limited and general partner relationship functions and potential impacts to the investment
  • Use different private equity investment strategies and determine when they are appropriate

The Economics of Private Equity

This course will walk participants through the basics of the Private Equity asset class and the typical economic arrangements structured between Limited and General Partners and other parties. Participants will gain exposure to the standard flows of monies through the private equity investment process as well as ways to evaluate returns, overall performance and post-investment monitoring.

Key Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the lifecycle of private equity fund investments and the rationale for their economic structures
  • Decipher how profits are calculated and shared between General and Limited Partners and the history and motivations for doing so
  • Connect key terminology in the Limited/General Partner relationship and their impact on fund performance
  • Utilize performance indicators and benchmarking in performance evaluation
