Driving Inclusion in Alternatives: Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in Private Markets

Private market firms are placing greater emphasis on inclusion—both within their organizations and across their portfolios—recognizing it as a driver of cultural transformation and superior investment outcomes.

We are committed to practices that promote the representation and participation of people with varied backgrounds, experiences and perspectives and ensure individuals fair access to opportunities and resources. Additionally, foster a workplace culture where all individuals feel respected, supported and empowered to contribute and succeed.

Overview of ILPA’s Inclusion Strategy

ILPA believes meaningful progress comes from both limited partners and general partners taking initiative. Our multi-pronged approach includes:

  • Bringing together industry leaders to exchange best practices and insights
  • Publishing research and tools to guide stakeholders at each stage of their inclusion journey
  • Connecting LPs with emerging, high-potential managers
  • Informing policy discussions around the globe to support inclusive frameworks

ILPA Driving Inclusion in Alternatives Initiative

The ILPA Driving Inclusion in Alternatives(DIA) initiative brings together limited partners and general partners who share a commitment to advancing diversity, equity and inclusion in the private equity industry. The goal of the initiative is to motivate market participants to engage in the journey towards becoming more diverse and inclusive and to build momentum around the adoption of specific actions that advance DEI over time.

ILPA-NAIC Emerging Manager Roadshows

Many LPs are prioritizing stewardship and are actively seeking opportunities to add talented diverse managers to their pipeline. To help members towards this goal, ILPA is partnering with the NAIC to host emerging manager roadshows. NAIC is the largest network of diverse-owned private equity firms focused on increasing the flow of capital to high-performing diverse managers.

To learn more about upcoming events and express interest in attending, please reach out to diversity@ilpa.org
