A public comment period on ILPA’s new draft CV materials (available for download above) closed on August 5th, 2026. We will consider the feedback received from this comment period as we finalise ILPA’s new CV guidance to be published later this year.
We aim to reflect the full range of perspectives shared during this comment period in the final guidance, which we are seeking to ensure remains responsive to current market needs.
If you have any questions in the interim period, please contact ILPA at: cvguidance2026@ilpa.org
All feedback received during the public comment period remain strictly confidential for internal ILPA use only.
The documents that were included in the new draft CV Guidance Materials for public comment were the following:
- CV Guidance: this document is intended to replace the existing 2023 guidance and sets out best practices in full to serve as a framework for strong CV process management, including appendixes with additional supporting information.
- GP Checklist: this checklist is based on the new guidance and is designed to be completed by the GP to highlight adherence to the ILPA best practices and standards set out in the new guidance.
- LP Evaluation Questionnaire: this short questionnaire is designed to act as a quick reference tool for LPs to identify whether a CV process meets core LP needs for assessing a CV transaction in line with the best practices in the new guidance.
- CV Process Timeline: this sets out the process steps for a typical CV transaction and identifies key LP engagement points.
Your input is critical in shaping a framework that supports informed LP decision making and strengthens industry standards.
The final CV Guidance will reflect the input received during this engagement process, which is to be released later this year.
