The Institutional Limited Partners Association (ILPA) today announced Bart van Dijk as its new Managing Director, Head of Europe.
Van Dijk will serve as ILPA’s lead representative in the region, building out its presence, steering and supporting the organization’s engagement with its growing membership there, and strengthening its visibility and relationships with industry partners and policymakers, among others.
“It’s a pivotal time for the industry as we consider our next chapter and an exciting time of global growth for ILPA,” said van Dijk. “I’m delighted to be joining the team already in London and look forward to all the ways we can expand our offerings and service to our European members—who today make up more than a fifth of ILPA’s global membership.”
“After an intensive search, we’re very excited to add Bart’s expertise and enthusiasm to the ILPA team,” said Jennifer Choi, ILPA CEO. “I’m grateful for the outstanding efforts of our staff, Board of Directors, and European Advisory Council to get operations moving on the ground in London in less than a year while simultaneously working to build and deepen our regional connections.”
“Being placed in the region myself, I’m personally very pleased to see ILPA take this important step supporting its commitment to engaging our European members and look forward to working with Bart as he continues to build our presence here,” said Teia Merring, ILPA Board of Directors Chair and Senior Investment Director, Private Equity, USS Investment Management Limited.
Van Dijk comes to ILPA from CSC, where he was responsible for business development, commercial strategy and marketing focused on private markets in Europe, as well as liaising with various regional teams across the United States, Europe, and Asia-Pacific. He has also acted as independent director on various PE-owned company boards alongside prominent private equity and investment firms and their investors.
Van Dijk joins ILPA Senior Managing Director of Global Growth Greg Durst, who had served as Interim Head of Europe, and Relationship Managers Holly Makarchuk and Daniele Guarnaschelli as the on-the-ground ILPA team engaging the European private markets community.
ILPA is the only global organization dedicated for over 20 years to exclusively advancing the interests of LPs and their beneficiaries. ILPA first announced its intention to open an office in London in Spring 2023.
