Maurice Gordon is a Managing Director for the Guardian Life Insurance Company of America. He joined Guardian's investment team in 2010 to continue the execution of their private equity investment initiative responsible for fund investing, co-investing and secondaries. He has over 20 years experience in private equity investing and portfolio management. Maurice has successfully originated and lead 27 direct and co-investment transactions and has managed institutional private equity portfolios totaling over $4.5 billion in a variety of buyout, venture capital, mezzanine and special situation partnerships, hedge funds, private placement's and small-cap stock distributions. He has served on 23 company boards of directors and fund advisory boards. Previously, Maurice spent over six years as a senior manager of a successful co-investment fund located in Chicago. Previously, Maurice was a managing director of The Hartford Insurance Company's private equity investment group, managing an $800 million diversified private equity portfolio. Previously, he was the managing general partner for the CIGNA Investment Corporations mezzanine limited partnerships. Maurice began his investment career at The Northern Trust Bank in Chicago. He earned B.A. and M.S. degrees in Economics from the University of Illinois, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
